Cedar Creek Falls Hike (01-01-2011)

On New Years Day (2011) a few of us decided to take an early hike to Cedar Creek Falls. Plunging roughly 80ft into a plunge pool surrounded by rock walls, it's one of the more popular hikes in this part of California, which is perhaps more known for its hot and dry climate than its waterfalls. It does have a rather short life depending upon the rain or snow fall during the winter. With all of our recent rains this waterfall was flowing quite well. In my opinion it will only be topped by one other waterfall, The Three Sisters. Which is another spectaculer set of falls I highly recommend.

Mildred Falls can be seen in the distance on the hike in. This is arguably the highest set of falls in San Diego County at over 90 feet high

There was a Sheriff's chopper patrolling the valley on our way out.
